Greenhorn’s second year kept the festival’s focus on new filmmakers and unusual short work.
The best-known film it showed
The film most often mentioned from 2012 is Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared, by Becky Sloan and Joseph Pelling. Their short starts as a cheerful children’s puppet show and turns into something much darker. It became one of the most widely watched British shorts of its decade. Press coverage of the festival in 2014 still pointed to it as an example of the kind of film Greenhorn liked to find.
