Editorial policy

How Greenhorn researches, writes, checks and corrects its articles, including how we use AI tools.

Accuracy first

Every factual claim in an article should be traceable to a source. We list our sources at the end of each piece. Where sources disagree, we say so. Where we could not confirm something, we leave it out.

The archive

The festival archive only contains information we could find in public sources: press coverage, venue listings, crowdfunding pages and public company records. We do not reconstruct programmes, award winners or quotes from memory or guesswork. Gaps in the record stay gaps until someone can fill them with evidence.

Use of AI tools

We use AI tools to help research and draft some articles. An editor reviews each draft before publication. Reviewing means checking facts against sources, removing anything unverifiable and making sure the advice is useful. AI tools are never credited as authors and never used to produce quotes attributed to real people.

Independence

We are not paid to include festivals in the directory or to review films. If we ever publish sponsored content or use affiliate links, the page will say so clearly at the top.

Festival information changes

Festivals change their dates, fees, rules and award-qualifying status every year. Our directory gives you a starting point and a link to each festival’s official site. Always check the official rules before you submit or pay a fee.

Corrections

If something is wrong, tell us. We fix errors quickly. When a correction changes the meaning of an article, we note it at the end of the piece.
