Leeds International Film Festival (LIFF) has run since the late 1980s and is one of the largest film festivals in the UK outside London. Its short film competitions are among the most respected in the country.

Short film awards

LIFF runs international and British short film competitions, including animation. Its top short film prizes can qualify films for the Academy Awards and BAFTA. Check the current rules, because qualifying awards are specific.

Why apply

A large, enthusiastic audience and a full programme of features make LIFF a good place to see your film in a broader context and meet filmmakers at every stage.
