Sundance is the best-known independent film festival in the world. Its short film programme is small and highly selective: thousands of shorts compete for a few dozen places. Its short film jury prizes can qualify films for the Academy Awards.
Two Films About Loneliness, shown at Greenhorn in 2015, also played Sundance.
Who it suits
Exceptional shorts with a distinctive voice. Treat it as a long shot rather than a plan, but if your film is ready, it is worth the fee.
The festival is planning to relocate in the coming years, so check the official site for the current location and dates.
Dates, rules and award-qualifying status change every year. Check the official site before you submit.
